Design Patent

A design patent is a form of legal protection granted to the ornamental design of a functional item. Design patents are a type of industrial design right. Ornamental designs of jewellery, furniture and beverage containers are examples of objects that are covered by design patents.

Utility Patent

A utility patent is a form of intellectual property that gives its owner the legal right to exclude others from making, using, selling and importing an invention for a limited period of years, in exchange for publishing an enabling public disclosure of the invention.

Trade Mark

A trade mark is a recognisable insignia, phrase, word, or symbol that denotes a specific product and legally differentiates it from all other products of its kind. A trade mark exclusively identifies a product as belonging to a specific company and recognises the company's ownership of the brand.
